Profile

Dr Ng Tay Meng graduated from the University of Singapore in 1983 and underwent postgraduate specialist training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He attained the Master of Medicine (MMed) and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1989. He was subsequently inducted as Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS) as well as the Royal College of Physician in Edinburgh. Dr Ng was also the vice president of the Singapore Gastroenterological Society (2000 – 2001) and has sat on several committees and presented scientific papers and lectures both locally and overseas.

Dr Ng spent a year in 1994 at the National Medical Laser Centre in London, UK where he underwent intensive and comprehensive training in all aspects of therapeutic and interventional Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, including endoscopic laser therapy of Gastrointestinal Cancer.

In the area of research, Dr Ng had performed several clinical trials and published scientific papers on gastrointestinal and liver diseases. He was awarded the prestigious Young Investigator Awards in 1996 and 1998 in the Asia-Pacific Digestive Disease Week. He later became senior consultant gastroenterologist and head the GI Endoscopy Service at Changi General Hospital before setting up his own private practice in 2003 at Gleneagles Medical Centre, Singapore.
